Education is a cornerstone of Symphony Space’s programming!

Our Global Arts: Cultural Literacy & Heritage is a year-round multidisciplinary program that uses workshops, lecture-demonstrations, and interactive performances to reveal a deeper and richer understanding of the world around us. Using traditional and contemporary art forms from Asia, Africa, Latin America, Native American culture, and Early American culture, Global Arts offers immediate contact with the arts and artists in classrooms, in after-school programs, at school assemblies, at libraries or community centers, on guided tours at museums, at interactive performances here at Symphony Space!

We are thrilled to share that this past February 9th, our Global Arts Cultural Field Trip program hosted over 600 New York City public school students here for an interactive performance of songs, stories, dance, music, and art from the African continent.

We love to hear feedback like that!

And there are still more field trips to come this year!

Latin America | March 14 & 15
American Folk Music | March 22 & 23
American Orchestra | April 20
Asia | May 24 & 25
